Kahalu'u Ward Message 9/4/22

Updated: Sep 5, 2022

Aloha e Kahalu’u ‘Ohana,

I love to listen to music but singing has never been a talent of mine. Me singing a cappella? That’s a pretty frightening thought. Yet now, my current calling has me surrounded by singing more that ever.

The Primary General Presidency shares that, “Primary songs are a powerful tool to help children learn about Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness and the foundational truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ…The words and music will stay in the children’s minds and hearts throughout their lives.”

As I sit amongst your kids in Singing Time, there’s no doubting the fact that they are where they need to be. It continues to be an unmeasurable blessing to have Hillary Woodland (music leader) and Bethany Comstock (pianist) share their musical talents in order to fulfill the message of the Primary General Presidency.

And for those of you who don’t have little ones in your homes…just remember these words from The First Presidency, “Music has boundless powers for moving families toward greater spirituality and devotion to the gospel. Hymns can lift our spirits, give us courage, and move us to righteous action. They can fill our souls with heavenly thoughts and bring us a spirit of peace”

I’m pretty sure Heavenly Father doesn’t mind if you happen to be off key once in awhile…so keep singing, Kahalu’u Ward:)

Ke aloha nō,

Kyra Chun

Kahalu’u Ward Primary President
