Aloha Kahaluu Ohana!
In this opportunity we have to share this spiritual thought we wanted to talk about the amazing blessings and power that comes from gratitude.
“...each of us has received gifts that we could not provide for ourselves, gifts from our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son, including redemption through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We have received life in this world; we will receive physical life in the hereafter, and eternal salvation and exaltation—if we choose it—all because of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Every time we use, benefit from, or even think of these gifts, we ought to consider the sacrifice, generosity, and compassion of the givers. Reverence for the givers does more than just make us grateful. Reflecting on Their gifts can and should transform us.”
This is a longer quote but we believe it is a powerful one. Everything we have comes from our Heavenly Father as a gift, sometimes that is hard to recognize or easy to forget. One thing that stands out to us is how our gratitude should transform us, which is an amazing concept. We learn that we should be born again in Christ, to become a new creature, and one of the ways we do that is through gratitude. How have you seen this in your life? We invite you to reflect on that question and have gratitude change your upcoming week.
We love all of you and we are so happy to serve all of you
Aloha,

I love teaching people how to pray. It is a tender experience, like watching a young child take steps for the first time. My heart fills with joy as I hear the first words. Unsteady at first. Unsure if what they're saying is "right". Looking up for reassurance. Slow, quiet, and simple. Yet in those short moments the spirit fills the room with an unearthly peace as a boy or a girl talks with their Father, often for the first time in a long time.
The Bible Dictionary says, "As soon as we learn the true relationship in which we stand toward God (namely, God is our Father, and we are His children), then at once prayer becomes natural and instinctive on our part. Many of the so-called difficulties about prayer arise from forgetting this relationship."
Isnt it beautiful that we can have the opportunity to speak to our Heavenly Father? And that He will listen and hear us? He cares about every smallest detail of our lives because he loves us. I can scarcely imagine the joy he feels when he hears our words.
This week Elder Linthorst and I have been blessed to teach several people how to pray. These first steps are just as important as any other gospel principle. I'm so grateful for every way I can help others take steps on their spiritual journey.
Love,
Elder Benjamin Boone
