Kahalu'u Ward Message 7/9/23

Aloha Kahaluu Ohana, Although missionary work does consist of reading our scriptures, teaching people, finding those to teach, etc., there is much more to missionary work than meets the eye. Behind the scenes of every missionary's life, is where that individuals skills and talents are both practiced and honed, in order to move the Lord's work forward.

We as missionaries, DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING. But the things we do know, we have learned, and practiced throughout our lives. And those are the teachings and testimonies we share with others. Being a missionary is more than just studying and teaching. It's about being a representative for the Lord at ALL TIMES, and IN ALL THINGS, and IN ALL PLACES, ETC.

Being a missionary is about being an example to ALL, showing them what Christ would be like, act like, talk like, etc. if he was on the earth today. Now although most of the time, people will reject your message, they will NEVER FORGET YOUR CHARACTER.

"Remember that the Savior testified, 'I am the light which ye shall hold up.' He reminds us that He will bring the light if we just point others to him. You and I have enough light to share right now. We can light the next step to help someone draw nearer to Jesus Christ, and then the next step, and the next." ("That They May See," Bonnie H. Cordon)

As we do all we can to glorify God with all of our actions, the spirit will work on people and prompt them to know the next step they must take to get closer to God themselves, even if they don't even believe in God. So brothers and sisters, be that example, be the light for others to look to, to find answers to prayers and questions they might have. And to find their way back to our Heavnly Father.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) ️

Brothers and sisters, let your light so shine. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
