Kahalu'u Ward Message 6/30/24

Aloha Kahalu’u Ward,

Recently, I was able to attend a beautiful Celebration of Life for Uncle Larry Saizon. The talks were heart warming and I know Uncle Larry was beaming with joy as he listened to the wonderful tributes given. It was nice to hear the testimonies of the family members from young to old, testifying of Eternal Life and Forever Family’s. It reminded me of my own father who passed away two years ago and how death is just a formality in this great plan that was designed for us to return back to our Father in Heaven not only as individuals but with the ones we love the most, our families.

Elder Robert D. Hales spoke about this in a general conference talk titled, “The Eternal Family.”

“The examples of faith shown by steadfast widows and widowers, along with that of their children, after the passing of a spouse or parent are an inspiration to all of us. Great lessons can be learned as we observe their faith and obedience as they strive to remain faithful so that they can once again be together as families through eternity.

The knowledge and understanding of the doctrine that God lives and Jesus is the Christ and that we have an opportunity to be resurrected and live in the presence of God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, makes it possible to endure otherwise tragic events. This doctrine brings a brightness of hope into an otherwise dark and dreary world. It answers the simple questions of where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. These are truths that must be taught and practiced in our homes.”

I am greatful for the hope and peace that the gospel brings to my life. Also, for the examples of others who are an inspiration to me and my testimony. I am grateful for my Savior who provided a way to return back to our Heavenly Father as a Forever Family. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Missionary Corner

G'day everyone,

Elder Kaonohi back at it again. First things first our friend Peter got baptized. Peter is now going to be leading the rest of his family to Jesus Christ.

We met this one dude who just literally just showed up to church one day. He is from Japan and the first time we met was at church where he showed up with a suit and so everyone thought he was another Elder. It was hilarious. He's been struggling though due to not having a job which has been tough to see. He's a cool dude though. It was just hilarious the first time we met.

Anyways the work is going good and we are finding small miracles everyday. I wanted to share something I read this past week. "And behold, there were divers ways that he did manifest things unto the children of men, which were good; and all things which are good cometh of Christ; otherwise men were fallen, and there could no good thing come unto them." - Moroni 7:24.

Jesus Christ, the answer to all. It's through Him, we can receive good and be good. All good things come from Him. Do as Moroni invites, seek this Jesus and you will find all that is good. God has given us divers ways to do this. Scriptures, prayer, church, commandments, sacred covenants. Seek and ye shall find. When He I'd the center of your life all is well. I end in the words of Sister Johansson in her final testimony to us missionaries. "JESUS CHRIST . . . In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen"

Aloha,

Elder Kaonohi
