Kahalu'u Ward Message 5/12/24

Updated: May 15

Aloha our Kahaluu Ohana!

This is Elder Hamblin and Elder Stone, we are the missionaries that are blessed to serve all of you! We have the opportunity to give this spiritual message we would like to share. In the general conference the talk titled Joy and Spiritual Survival, by President Russell M. Nelson:

“When the focus of our lives is on God’s plan of salvation… and Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives. Joy comes from and because of Him.”

We are so very grateful for Christ and what He has done for us. When we follow Him and the things He has commanded of us, we are able to “fill the measure of our creation,” and feel the joy and peace that He has. We know that as we have drawn closer to Christ by study and by faith, we have experienced great joy and seen “many mighty miracles.” We promise, if you focus on the Savior and His gospel, you can receive that true joy no matter what is happening just like President Nelson said.

We love you all, and are grateful to serve you.

Family & friends, it's an evil world we living in. It's a beautiful one, but not always sunshine and rainbows. However, because of Jesus Christ & His restored gospel, we can find that Peace when we go through the storm. I testify to you that He'll always be there for each and every single one of us. This I know of a surety.

One of my favorite quotes that I'd gotten from one of our members was this: "Faith doesnt mean you expect miracles, faith means youre willing to take what comes and have faith through it. Whether good or not. ". Trust in Him my brothers & sisters. Big trust.

Hope yall are doing good, I'm surviving haha but in all seriousness I always am grateful for this opportunity to do this work. Even when my patience is running thin haha. On a side note, if yous could keep a prayer out from my pops it'd mean a lot. Love you Dad. Anyways, yous stay safe out there & keep pushing. Love & miss you all heaps. Alofa atu aiga.

Aloha,

Elder Afualo
