Kahalu'u Ward Message 3/31/24

Updated: Apr 20

Dear Kahalu’u Ward ‘Ohana,

On this special weekend, the Christian world comes together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Latter-day Saints affirm and testify that Jesus Christ was resurrected and lives today with a glorified and perfected body of flesh and bone.  Because of this infinite event, Jesus Christ gave humanity HOPE.  Surety to have life after death.  With life after death possible, we have a reason to live our lives knowing that the things we do in this life will have eternal meaning.  Our families, our relationships, our knowledge, talents, experiences, and memories will carry on.  The alternative is loss and chaos.  Hope is so important for us because life is hard and full of challenges.  Hope fuels our ability to look forward to a better future.

On Saturday, our ward had a Primary activity at the beautiful Harris residence.  It was a wonderful activity where so many dedicated hands came together to make the activity enjoyable and memorable for the children.  The children in our ward are so precious.  Seeing their happy smiles and genuine laughs made this year’s Easter special for me.  As I took a moment to soak in their smiles, I could see the brightness that these children will bring to the world.  They don’t know it yet, but they will be deliverers of hope to a world full of unique challenges.  That hope is possible because Jesus Christ conquered all and resurrected on that 3rd day.

May you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday and take time to be hopeful as you face your futures.  As you do so, you are partakers and beneficiaries of the Infinite Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Love,

Bishop Tano

Kahalu’u Ward

Missionary Corner

Anyways, this week was so crazy! We had Zone Conference on Monday and Tuesday with a special visit from a general authority of the church. Elder and Sister Teh came to visit our mission. Elder Teh is in the Asia Area Presidency. It was so cool having him here and being able to hear so many spiritual messages from him and his wife. One of my favorite things that I learned was from a verse in the Bible. The verse was Matthew 17:4 which says "4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias." The part that we were asked to focus on was "it is good for us go be here". We were invited to look for reasons of why it is good for us to be here everyday. Not just here on a mission but on the earth, and also in other things. We have so many reasons that where we are is good which God gives us. We just need to find them.

A cool experience we had was the other night. We had plans to go and visit a few inactive members but our schedule just completely went out the window due to many reasons. So without a plan Elder Bowden and I both felt we just needed to start walking and follow the Spirit. For the rest of that evening we were blessed with so many miracles. We were able to meet a few people who were interested in the gospel. We were also able to run into a recent convert who we haven't been able to contact in a bit. We were blessed!

Love,

Elder Kekaula
