Kahalu'u Ward Message 2/4/24

Aloha Kahalu'u Ohana, 1 Nephi 3:7. I’m sure this verse is familiar to many of you and most could even recite this scripture mastery without hesitation. I have a child that gets genuinely excited to read the scriptures but is constantly challenged by unfamiliar words/context and being unable to look beyond the literal meaning of what she’s reading. This year, I can totally see her making it a goal to memorize all BOM scripture mastery passages. However, I truly hope she is able to think celestial and memorize the significance/meaning of those passages as well. And most importantly, as her mom, I am able to correctly teach them to her (and all her siblings).

Let us all be reminded of the ability and obligation we have to not only do our daily scripture readings, but to our daily scripture STUDIES as well. I hope you have a wonderful week. Take care:)

Ke aloha nō,

Kyra Chun

Kahalu’u Primary President

Missionary Corner

Today was a cool day I would say.... WE STARTED it off with a funeral of one of our friends from english course that had his father die. We were hesitant about going at first but we both thought we should 100% go. Im not going to lie catholic funeral are crazy but it was fun. We finshed the funeral and ran into one a grey dot that has been taught alot of doctrine and he had a friend with him, we end up getting her number and she texts us that she has been trying to become Cristian but doesnt know how and asked if we could help! We of course said yes! Only this is is that she is from Iran and changing religions is dangerous so we can only teach her the doctrine but not baptize her. Which is no problem we would like her have the understanding at least. We finsihed the day with street contacting and had some success!

Love,

Elder Vilardi
