Aloha Kahalu’u Ward,
One principle I have learned from reading the Gospel of John in the New Testament is, living a doctrine of God helps us to gain knowledge of the doctrine. In John 7:17 it reads “If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself’. Jesus taught that if we lived a doctrine, we would be able to gain a testimony of the doctrine for ourselves. This is really true. For example, in order to gain knowledge of prayer, we pray. To develop knowledge and testimony of faith, we exercise faith. To know whether forgiveness is from God, we forgive. As we sincerely live the doctrines and do the good side of things taught by Jesus Christ, we acquire knowledge in a way that we otherwise can’t draw on by other means. Mahalo Nui Loa!
