Aloha Kahalu'u Ward,
Earlier this month, our family started taking some time before bed to ask our two kids, Kuahiwi and Keamalu, what they're thankful for. Each night we use a different prompt (what's a food you're thankful for, what's a toy you love, who is a friend you like to play with?). So, to get everyone in the spirit for the Thanksgiving holiday, I thought I'd share a comprehensive list of some of the things that Kuahiwi and Keamalu Comstock are thankful for in this world.
Some of their answers are admittedly strange (Keamalu and the zombie monster truck?) but some are also so simple and honest that it has provided a good reminder for me to acknowledge the daily blessings that I should be thankful for.
It also made me think of what Amulek taught the Zoramites: "I desire that ye should remember these things.... that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which He doth bestow upon you." (Alma 34:37-38).
Happy Thanksgiving!

The biggest thing that ward members have helped us with as of recently is our baptism for our friend Julius who got baptized on Saturday!! First one of the mission and it was great! A lot of you know my mom always be doing events n stressing over em, well mama, I know how you feel now It was definitely stressful running around trying to get everything organized, but the ward truly came in clutch and helped bring everything together in the end. We actually had a huuge turnout with the ward and everyone was excited to get to know Julius after and bring him into the ward family! It was pretty funny, so with this being my first baptism I was so focused on the program and everything that I forgot about actually having to perform the baptism But when I did it I guess I did it pretty fast because everyone was like "Oh wow that was pretty quick" and one of the youth came up to me afterwards n said "Sole you dunk him like a MJ!" It was honestly a blessing to see our uso Julius take that first step onto the covenant path & I'm hecka proud of him and his commitment to come closer to Christ.
Well family & friends, that's about it from me this week. I'm grateful for this opportunity I have to serve & I'm grateful for the hard times that make the good times that much more sweet. My lil thought this week comes from Alma 37:6;
"Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise."
Rome wasn't built in a day & neither was Chris Bumstead. It takes small & continous efforts with a focus on the endgoal in mind that'll help us to be where we want to be. That's applicable to anything in life: spiritually, logistically, mentally, just keep going. God got you always.
Remember to say your prayers & stay safe out there. Alofa aku, manuia le vaiaso! Love yous, have a great week, stay safe, & take care!
