No Worries, We Get Um!
When Elder Afualo first got to New Zealand, he bought a boxed bike that needed to be assembled. He, along with his companion were anxious to put his bike together so they could visit a family later that day. Although the bike came with instructions, these young and eager Elders thought they could complete it quicker by looking at the picture on the box and figure it out themselves. An hour or so later they completed the bike and were so proud of themselves, but Elder Afualo noticed that when he would ride the bike, he had a hard time making sharp turns; the bike didn't have the best turning radius and he would have to anticipate making wider turns then most. He used it that way for over one month. It wasn't until his zone took their bikes to the shop for maintenance that they discovered his bike wheels were installed backwards! It was simply not built to go that way. Once his bike was fixed and adjusted, it now works perfectly!
Sometimes we feel like we have life figured out, and have no need for guidance or instruction.
But our Father in Heaven loves us and has sent us to earth with divine instruction manuals to help navigate us throughout this life. If we continue to read from the scriptures and learn from the Saviors life and teachings, He will help us throughout our road of life so we can all return safely, home.
