Our family spent the holidays up in Utah with our other children, along with my parents and other family members. As usual, it was such a joy…Watching the younger cousins dare each other who was brave enough to hold a new pet snake, or who could last the longest playing pickleball outside in the freezing cold, and then the older cousins making late night fast food runs, while the adults just enjoyed hot coco with bread and butter while reminiscing and laughing over family stories from the past.
We talked about moments that benefitted our families, and also moments we wish never happened. Hehe. (Painful memories) But we also talked about future family plans to keep our families closer together and staying on the covenant path.
This year, 2024, the Come Follow Me program will focus on the Book of Mormon. A story about a family who we are all familiar with. A family who left Jerusalem to gain a better life. And just like our families, they too made choices which both benefitted and hurt their families.
What I love most about this Book, is the joy that families find when they just listen to what the Savior counsels us to do. Giving us hope as He promised. For me, I love joy in my family. And I plan on reading this Book even closer this year, and embracing any knowledge from it, that will enhance this joy.
I share with you what I’ve always told my family, “IT’S ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT FAMILY.”
