Aloha Kahalu`u Ward,
This week in our 'Come Follow Him' study we read about Enoch and the city of Zion. We can look around Hawaii or even Kahaluu and think, how far are we from the Lord coming down to Bishop Tano and saying "You did it! You are all coming with me!". We are told that Zion, is a people where "they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them".
How did the people of Enoch do it?
We can have the attitude that we are waiting for everyone else to be a Zion people, but the reality is that it takes everyone doing their part and being. By striving everyday to participate in the mission of Christ's church, sharing the gospel, perfecting the saints, the work for the dead and caring for those in need, we contribute to the building of Zion.
As the lesson manual says:
"Perhaps the best way to build Zion is to start in our own hearts and homes."
Aloha,
Kaihaku Chun
