Aloha Kahalu’u Ward,

I have been reminded this past week of how crazy and stressful our daily lives may become with work, kids' school and events, trying to maintain physical activity, and really just stuff that we seem to not have enough time for.  Some weeks are just bad, it seems like you just get no wins.  It’s weeks like these in which I truly look forward to Sundays.

As I sit up on the stand each Sunday I am reminded of the importance of meeting together often.  In the Doctrine and Covenants 20:75 “It is expedient that the church meets together often to partake of bread and wine in the remembrance of the Lord Jesus;” While partaking of the sacrament is the single greatest purpose for attending church each Sunday, the blessings of following these instructions that the Lord provides are innumerable.

One of the many blessings which I receive each Sunday is that I receive strength from all who attend.  As I am able to arrive early, I get the chance to greet a few members before the sacrament meeting starts.  It’s usually the same culprits, you know who you are, but it starts to lift my heart.  Then as I take my seat up on the stand, I get to see more members start to filter into the chapel and you can start to feel the room change.  As the meeting progresses with announcements, opening hymns and opening prayer more folks have been able to take their seats, and the room continues to change.  Then as the Aaronic Priesthood YM blesses and passes the sacrament we are blessed with the power of the spirit the chapel has transformed, and we are all awash in the spirit of Christ.

So many Sundays I have been blessed to feel the spirit as we gather together to partake of the sacrament, how grateful I am to be able to watch and feel the change of the chapel each Sunday and share in these moments with all of you.  May we continue to meet together often and continue to strengthen one another in Christ name amen.

Jeff Tom 2nd Councselor, Bishopric Kahaluʻu Ward

Hey Everyone, it's been a little minute since I've sent an email. My bad imma try to be better at it this transfer! But so far this transfer has been pretty crazy! There is a lot going on in the FTM!

Updates:

- New Companion!! Elder Clark is a dawg, He's from Oregon and has been on his mission for about 6 months.

- First Transfer as a District Leader! I was definitely not expecting to do this so early on but I love my district and they have all made these experiences awesome.

- Snow Dayyyy! Last Sunday it snowed in Albany Georgiaa!!! It was my first time experiencing snow and it was so so fun! It was sad that the Church was canceled but we were able to have a lit snow ball fight with the Spanish elders! Ohh year there's also spanish elders in Albany.

- Tally Tripp! This past week we were able to go to Tallahassee twice this past week. On Thursday we ended up having a Zone conference! It was so good to see everyone and I was able to sing in the zone conference! We also ended up going to Tallahassee on Saturday to take Indy to the temple for the first time! It was such an awesome experience and it was awesome to get that reset in the temple. CANNNNESSSSS!!! Both times that we went to canes we had to get Canes!
