Christmas Gifts
This year feels really different for me. It’s my senior year of high school, I’m thinking a lot about change and the future, and I also became an aunty for the very first time. My sister Maya had her baby, Hulali ‘Aulelei, and helping watch her, feed her, and just hold her has been the best! It’s been a little crazy, but in the best Aunty kind of way.
With our fist Christmas with baby Hulali in the house made me think of gifts-not just the kind we wrap, but spiritual gifts. When I hold baby I feel love in a deeper way than I ever have before. It reminds me that one of the greatest gifts Heavenly Father gives us is love—pure, selfless love that connects families and brings us closer to Him.
Christmas celebrates the greatest gift of all: Jesus Christ. Because of Him, change doesn’t have to be scary. Even when life feels busy or uncertain, we’re never alone. The Savior understands growth, sacrifice, and love, and He teaches us how to serve others, especially within our own ʻohana.
This season, I’m grateful for togetherness—for late nights, shared meals, laughter, and even the tired moments. I’m grateful for the Savior who brings peace, hope, and meaning to all of it. As we give gifts this Christmas, I hope we also recognize the spiritual gifts around us: family, love, faith, and the reminder that Christ is always with us, no matter what new chapter we’re entering. Happy New Year everyone! Lana AfualoYW Laurel's President, Kahalu'u Ward

MISSIONARY CORNER
During this christmas season and always i invite us all to look outside ourselves, its so common and easy to get lost in the commotion of the worldy christmas to the point we forget the reason we celebrate, we should follow the example in matthew 25:
"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me."
The lord promises us that if we do these things, and follow His example we will be blessed, he says:
"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
I testify that Jesus Christ is the savior and redeemer of the world. I know that he was born and that he died for us. I know he loves you and has a plan for you. I say these things in his precious, name Jesus Christ amen.
woot woot merry christmas thank you for all the christmas love, i really appreciate it, 60 weeks down ill catch yall next christmas alofa atu family
alofas,
elder fano
