Kahalu'u Ward Message 11/2/25

Aloha everyone,

A few weeks ago President Candari asked President Nitahara and myself to present on ministering at the training session of stake conference and since then I've had some time to really reflect on this past year and the many sweet moments and efforts of ministering we've been able to see and feel from all of you.

I thought about the quiet ways you’ve each ministered — the small text that arrived at just the right time, the meal dropped off without anyone asking, the prayer offered in someone’s name. These may seem like simple acts, but in the eyes of the Lord, they are sacred. Every act of ministering, every time we reach out in love, we are not just serving each other — we are working to hear Gods voice more clearer in our lives.

President Nelson taught that “ministering is showing how we care for others the way the Savior would.” And as we do that, we come to hear His voice more clearly. It’s often in those quiet, ordinary moments that He speaks to our hearts:

“Go visit her today.”

“Call him right now.”

“Just listen.”

Those gentle nudges are how He teaches us to hear Him. So as we represent, please know — we're not just speaking about you; we're speaking for you. You are the example. You are the light in our Kahaluu community. And I believe our Heavenly Father is pleased with your efforts to love, lift, and listen like He does. Let’s continue to minister with aloha, with kuleana, and with laulima — together, hearing Him as one ohana in Jesus Christ.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27
