Dearest Kahalu’u Ward,
I have been in a constant state of thankfulness and joy serving alongside each of you. At this week's Ward Halloween party, I was so grateful to see so many of our smiling ward family members and friends come together to enjoy each other's company. The bond that we share as a ward is truly so special. I see it in every gathering, big or small. You love each other, you work so hard in your individual callings and tasks, you offer your best, and that is because you love the Lord. You may not realize it, but there is an eternal promise attached that.
In D&C 124: 44, the Lord tells us that "If ye labor with all your might, I will consecrate that spot that it shall be made holy."
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland is someone that I follow on social media, and he expounded on this scripture recently. He said, "Now for me that is a remarkable doctrinal promise from the Lord. And because we usually think the reverse; I will go where it's holy, and therefore, I'll be edified, and we'll make the work go better. And that's true. But here it's the reverse of that: Wherever you are and whatever you are doing and however you're working, work with your might, and I will make that spot holy. I love that."
There are so many of your efforts that go unseen, and many hours of thoughtful preparation, put forth for short moments. Whether it's planning and prepping for a Ward party, baking bread for a ministering visit, passing out zucchini, planning to teach a lesson on Sunday, supporting our youth who go out or come home from missions, or reaching out to those in need, the Lord is consecrating your efforts. You are uncovering your spiritual power! You are standing in holy places! May you find joy in your efforts, and feel the Lord is with you along the way!
So Much Love,
Bishop TanoKahalu'u Ward

Missionary Corner

Hey guys! My bishop convinced me to send a email for the first time in about 5ish months I'm going to make a list of cool things that had happened.
In our Ward there has been 7 baptisms in 2 transfers
A cool man we tried to talk to was really nice until we said we were missionaries for the church and then he immediately looks at us like this () and screams at us "Nine Nine Nine" when I guess is no in German.
I'm training a awesome new missionary he is super sick. One of my favorite comps I've had, very humble man
I had more lessons in spanish we have a friend named Nancy that's from Peru and is super awesome she arrived here about 3 months and doesn't speak Italian so it has been awesome teaching her and seeing God's help with the gift of tongues
We are seeing amazing miracles everyday and I have truly felt like I have became a true Disciple of Jesus Christ. I have been giving it my all to the lord in my mission and im ready to continue that for the rest of my life
I have 2 transfers left in my mission
I am in Terni, a small city close to Rome
I have gotten back into cooking which has been fun, can't wait to cook for my future family
We have an apostle coming to our mission in 1 week and I'm very excited (Elder Gary E. Stevenson)
We find a lot of people still and it is still my favorite thing to do. I love talking with people so much.
we got a bench press
That's all kinda... I hope you all are doing good, send me a message back! maddux.vilardi@missionary.org
Love,Anziano Vilardi
