Kahalu'u Ward Message 9/21/25

Dear Kahalu'u Family,

When I think about sisterhood, I think about our recent youth retreat to Maui. We had so many adventures together—hiking, being on the summit of Haleakalā, and even working side by side cleaning the kalo patch. Each of those moments brought us closer, because we weren’t just experiencing something beautiful—we were experiencing it together.

But then we come back to real life. School, sports, family, stress—it can feel different, and sometimes the closeness we felt starts to fade. That’s when it’s important to remember the good times, because those memories strengthen us when we’re apart.

The scriptures remind us that we are meant to “be one” (Doctrine and Covenants 38:27). Just like climbing Haleakalā was easier because we encouraged each other, or like cleaning the kalo patch went faster when everyone helped, our lives are better and lighter when we support and uplift each other in true sisterhood.

So whether we’re on a mountaintop in Maui or just walking through the halls at school, let’s choose to be united. Let’s remember—we are better together.
