Dear Kahaluu Family, Greetings and Salutations…

Now that the hot summer months are behind us, we can look forward to our ward Primary

Sacrament Presentation in October. The Primary Sacrament Presentation holds a special place

in my heart. Since 1978 (forty seven years ago), and every year thereafter, I’ve looked forward

to attending the Primary Sacrament Presentation. On Sunday, 12 October 2025, our Kahalu'u

Ward Primary children will share with us their testimonies through scripture verses, primary

songs and short stories that will provide spiritual uplifting and happiness for each of us to enjoy.

“I stand all amazed” as these children of our Heavenly Father will inspire us in just a short

period of their precious moment.

It was through my first Primary Sacrament Presentation I attended that played a significant

part of my conversion. Yes…I built my testimony on our young children and for their example

of loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I soon entered the waters of baptism on Sunday, 21

December 1978. It was called a “White Christmas” baptism back in those days as well as a

“golden” baptism. Till today, I don’t understand why my baptism was referred to as being

“golden.” My baptism allowed me to become a member of the Kaneohe 2nd Ward with Lee

Fields serving as Bishop. Brother James Kealoha was the Elder’s Quorum President and Sister

Arlette Kealoha served as the Primary President. My first calling was serving in the YM program

as the secretary (presidency). If my memory serves me correctly, Bishop Tano’s dad was the

YM President. Sometime after, I served as the Blazer A leader in the Primary and Aunty Diane

Weeks was the Primary President. No, no, no, I wasn’t always in the clerk’s office…

…I love the Primary hymns…one in particular and one of the most sung songs in Primary is “I

Feel My Savior’s Love.” The song testifies about the love of our Savior Jesus Christ for all of

Heavenly Father’s children, and also stands as a reminder of how we can feel our Savior’s love.

Whether it be during times of peace and comfort or in times of trouble and distress.

Here are 4 ways on how we can feel our Savior’s love.

“In all the world around me…” (#1)

Jesus Christ created the heavens and the earth under the direction of Heavenly Father (see

Mosiah 3:8; Moses 2:1). The Creation is an integral part of Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation,

with the Atonement of Jesus Christ at its center. In the scriptures, Nephi taught that the world

was created as a gift for all God’s children “…the Lord hath created the earth that is should be

inhabited, and he hath created his children that they should possess it.” Everything about us in

this world shows that God loves us. The love of Jesus Christ as well as of our Heavenly Father

abounds on every side if we will just look. The creations are also proof of His infinite power; if

He can create something as enormous as a mountain range or an ocean, then He has the power

to aid us in overcoming our obstacles as well.

“When I kneel to pray…” (#2)

Joseph Smith, at 14 years old, went in search of solitude on a spring day in 1820 and prayed to

determine which church was true. He heard from God the Father and Jesus Christ. Since the birth, ministry, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith’s First Vision - which began with a

humble prayer at the Sacred Grove - is still regarded as the greatest event in human history.

To shower all of God’s children with His mercy and love, even thru times of doubt and

insecurity, wars and rumors of war, natural calamities, and personal tragedies, God spoke to

Joseph Smith. The Savior said, “Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and

whosoever will come, him will I receive (3 Nephi 9:14). And all who accept this invitation will be

“encircled about with the matchless bounty of his love” (Alma 26:15). In one of President

Russell M. Nelson’s talks at Brigham Young University, he asked students “Have you found your

own ‘Sacred Grove’?”, we can ask ourselves the same question, “have I found my Sacred

Grove?,” where our Savior’s matchless love can encircle us.

“Offer him my heart…” (#3)

Sister Neill F. Marriott in one of her talks asks, “What is our heart condition today?”

Paradoxically, in order to have a healed and faithful heart, we must first allow it to break before

the Lord. “Ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit,” the Lord

declares. The result of sacrificing our heart, or our will, to the Lord, is that we receive the

spiritual guidance we need,” Sister Marriott added. Elder Bruce D. Porter of the Seventy,

taught that “Christ’s example teaches us that a broken heart is an eternal attribute of godliness.

When our hearts are broken, we are completely open to the Spirit of God and recognize our

dependence on Him for all that we have and all that we are.” As we offer our hearts to the

Savior, and as we recognize our dependence on Him and His Atonement, we continually receive

His unending love.

“By serving others freely…” (#4)

It is said in John 13:34: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another, as I

have loved you, that ye also love one another.” We show our love by being kind. President

Thomas S. Monson, taught, “Actually, love is the very essence of the gospel, and Jesus Christ is

our Exemplar. His life was a legacy of love. The sick He healed; the downtrodden He lifted; the

sinner He saved. At the end, the angry mob took His life. And yet there rings from Golgotha’s

hill the words: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” - a crowning expression

in mortality of compassion and love.” Kindness, patience, selflessness, understanding, and

forgiveness are just a few of the qualities that are expressions of love. These qualities will help

show the love we have in our hearts in all of our interactions. As we freely show the Savior’s

love through our actions and through the service we show to others, we feel the same love in

return.

Thank you Primary children for your inspiration and your sincere love you have for our Father in

Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ. You are my example that led to my conversion.

P.S. I apologize for my lengthy message.

Regards - Uncle Bill

Another week downnnn yessahhh. Hope all is well back home its been actually a crazy week here. We have transfers this week so prolly looking at another crazy one .

NORA GOT BAPTIZED !! - idk if yall remember but last transfer me and elder maiava found and taught a girl named nora but we got transfered out. Butttt this past week i got a text asking if i could baptize her  of course i said yes and we went on saturday, it was such a good baptism spirit so strong. Very grateful to be a part of it  ... and the food after lemme tellll you we was filled spiritually andddd physically . President Russell M Nelson said " Saints can be happy under every circumstance. We can feel joy even while having a bad day, a bad week, or even a bad year!

… The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives."

as i explained earlier, this transfer has probably been the heaviest of my whole mission so far. I started training and none of us knew the language, mid transfer i got another greenie, my district is the biggest in the mission all that + ward drama idk, I feel like alot has been thrown on me and i didnt know if i could handle.  It was so easy to think about the bad and the negatives. I received council to study the words of the prophet, and he said:"

“When the focus of our lives is on … Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives.”

That was the answer, if i focused my weeks, my transfer, mission, and my life on our Savior Jesus Christ, i would feel joy. I have tried my very hardest to truly know Christ, you cant love someone you dont know. I have seen his hand in my life so much this transfer its unbelievable. I love the Lord and I am not ashamed of it, in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
