Kahalu'u Ward Message 8/3/25

In almost every one of his weekly emails, Elder Fano includes a spiritual thought. Last month, my nephew shared how a Sister asked the Missionaries to reword the saying, “I know I’m not perfect,” with “I know I’m not PROGRESSING,”. Elder Fano continued to write, “We should stop focusing on perfection because obviously we’re not there, but progression is absolutely in our control. Becoming a little better every single day is all that’s asked of us.”
This was such a timely reminder for me and I was happy to have read his words. It is my hope that you too can put more emphasis on PROGRESSION. Whether it involves your health, covenants, or even your testimony…I know that Heavenly Father recognizes our efforts and will continue to bless us:)

Effort -
Yups as i was saying at the beginning i lowkey... highkey been going through it . I wish i could explain how hard it is to teach someone a language you dont even know. I could go on and on about everything thats been weighing me down this week, but this past week i have also been thinking of the principle that the Lord LOVES effort. Its something ive heard a million times before, but i maybe havent realized its truthfulness until coming out here.
Being a trainer, not knowing the language, brings many thoughts of inadequacy, or feelings like im not enough. But the Lord LOVES effort, so i took that thought and put it into practice. Every day ive found my self deep in study and prayer asking the Lord to help me. We go to visit members or to teach lessons and its like the words just flow, things i swear i dont even remember practicing or learning just start going.
Effort in all we do is all thats asked. The Lord will support us with our righteous desires if we try. I have a testimony that the Lord truly LOVES effort, I know that He makes up for where we fall short. He's done it in my life and he can in yours
Theres always gonna be things to complain about but there are so much more to be grateful for. Happy no one drowned this past week . But yupppps 41 for 41 emails keep things goinnnn. Love you all, reach out if you need anything at all. Alofa tele mo outou taitoatasi, manuia lava tou vaiaso
alofa atu,
Elder Fano
