Kahalu'u Ward Message 11/3/24

Aloha Kahaluu Ohana!

Today, we would like to share with you about the family history!

Malachi 4: 5-6 say that, "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."

We invite all of you to "turn your heart to your fathers" by working on the family history! We know that families can be together forever, and when we do the family history work, it helps the Lord's work, gathering of Israel. We promise you that this work will bring you joy by more fully knowing that God loves all of his children, and we share these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

If you don't know how to do your family history, there's a family history night every Thursday from 6-8 pm!

Missionary Corner

Howzit family, friends and fellow missionaries

Pear Park is fruitful and the Lord continues to bless the brethren!

Weekly highlights:

- A miracle was with my guy Elder Jones who is pretty new. He wanted to find more friends and he asked for some advice. I said he needs to talk to absolutely EVERYONE. We ended up finding multiple friends and all of them were from us yelling out to them while walking from door to door. It was so sick to see him get fired up when we would find new friends!!! Blessings

- We had a hymn festival and I ran into so many members from previous wards and then I ran into thee Joyce Paul. Elder Reece and I found Joyce earlier this year and she was baptized and now she holds a calling, plays piano in the relief society and goes to the temple as much as she can. She told me that missionaries are currently working with her sister and that Joyce is helping her get baptized as well by sharing her testimony with her sister. I love Joyce!!!

- Biggest miracle was knocking into our new friend Bryce. We went tracting to finish the day and I told Elder Greep walking to the first door that he got this one because I didn't feel like talking right now. He proceeded to cook and do his thing and Bryce accepted a BOM. Then Bryce says "I just want a closer relationship with Jesus Christ." I jump in and ask him what he's willing to do to come closer to Jesus. Bryce then responds with the most goated response. "I've been asked that question before and just don't know what direction to take". Then we start to cook and say that we help people make covenants with God and be more bonded to him. Laid out all the promise blessings and the spirit was cooking. We invited him to work towards baptism and we got bro on date for December 7th.

Spiritual thought:

Last night my brother Elder Soares lead a training for our Sunday night zoom devotional with all the missionaries. He trained on the atonement of Jesus Christ and knowing we are loved. He called on me to read John 11:35 which reads "Jesus Wept" and had me bear testimony. I talked about how when we go through those hard times it's alright to shed a few tears because Christ did as well and he understands. Elder Soares is one of my best friends but he told us last night that "we need to be our own best friend and not be so hard on ourselves". Baller training.

Love is the antidote to all problems!

      - Love the Lord

      - Love Yourself

      - Love Others

I love you all!!!

Elder Dano
